00:00:00This video compares the four hybrid and sevenwood from the Elite series using the same shaft to analyze descent angle and carry distance, with an expert joining at the end to verify results.
00:00:43Lexi and her partner are testing shots with a four hybrid and sevenwood, noting the ball flight and descent angle, especially since Lexi doesn't often use hybrids.
00:01:32You missed a shot but recovered well, noting an unusual shot shape before moving on to the seven wood.
00:02:42The shot sounded great and might curve slightly to the left, resulting in a bit of a draw.
00:02:53Cody prefers using a sevenwood over a hybrid, having played with it all season and enjoying its performance despite never having used a hybrid before.
00:03:54They compared shots with hybrids and woods, noting slight differences in distance, and then invited Cody to try.
00:04:38It sounded good, but I didn't expect it to be so far left.
00:04:57The distance was good, but I feel like I don't have much control over the face with this.
00:05:14The speaker feels less contact feedback with one club compared to the sevenwood, which they have better feel with.
00:05:57The speaker reflects on their inconsistent golf swings, blaming themselves rather than the club, and focuses on achieving straighter shots and consistent carry distances.
00:07:23The swing gave me a clear idea the ball was going left, and the shot did a great job coming back as a draw.
00:07:46The speaker loves the seven wood for its forgiving mis-hits and ball flight, while appreciating the hybrid for its confidence-inspiring, larger face when hitting off the fairway.
00:08:44Callaway's elite fairway woods feature steps that help improve contact by allowing easier shots closer to the ground, and the speakers are now reviewing performance data from hitting the four hybrid and seven wood.
00:09:39Both players achieved greater distance, ball speed, and better descent angles with the 7-wood, making it the preferred club for improved stopping power on greens.
00:10:31Both of you hit the 7 wood better than the 4 hybrid, making the 7 wood the recommended choice for distance and stopping power.

00:00:00Hey everyone, welcome back to the SKYTRAK YouTube channel. We've got a very fun and exciting video for you today where we're going to be putting the four hybrid and the sevenwood up against each other. >> Yeah. So, we are using the Elite series for both of them and we are using the exact same flex um and weight shaft. So, really the only thing that we're changing is the type of club that we're using. Um and we are going to look at two different data points today. We are
00:00:26going to do descent angle and carry distance. >> Yeah. And we might even bring an expert in at the end to see if our assumptions are correct. >> Yeah, let's get into it.
00:00:43>> Okay, Lexi, you go first. >> Sounds good. >> We're going to hit 10 shots total. Five starting with the four hybrid and then five with the sevenwood. >> Oh, that sounded good, Lexi. >> That did sound good. I like that ball flight. >> Happy with that. >> Coming back to the right a little bit. >> Not going to lie, it has a bit lower of a descent angle than I was expecting. I >> don't hit with a lot of hybrids, so this is kind of a first for me. Not a first, but >> Right.
00:01:12>> It's an interesting test.
00:01:18>> That was kind of two pretty consistent shots there. >> Yeah, pretty much the same shot shape.
00:01:32You played that one. What is that? A sand. What is What just happened there? >> I don't know. That's my miss. It happens. You know, no one's perfect, Cody. Sometimes you miss shots and that's okay. Not this one, though. There we go. That one sounded great. >> Interesting shot shape for me because I typically start it right of the target and then either keep going right at the target >> or I cut back left. And >> it's interesting that this one is >> not that. >> Okay. Up next, seven wood.
00:02:27So right away you could see that uh >> the angles just lower >> the angle a little higher. Yeah,
00:02:42>> there we go. Sounded great. >> Yeah, that one might come back to the left a little bit. Okay, >> bit of a draw. Yeah.
00:02:53>> So, what what do you prefer to hit with, Cody? Do you like a hybrid or wood? >> Uh, I've been gaming the sevenwood pretty much all season long. >> Um, I've never really been a hybrid club player. That sounded great. Like, >> good. >> Really good contact. I mean, face was a little open, but >> yeah, I'll take that though. Pretty good shot. Um, yeah, I my first time using sevenwood was this year and I love the sevenwood. I've also never had a hybrid in my bag, but >> yeah,
00:03:27>> but a lot of people like them.
00:03:42>> That one sounded great. I mean, this is these are pretty shots. Let's go. One more. Good one.
00:03:54>> Yeah, a little different. I hit a little lower on the face, so probably not as much distance, but pretty similar. Okay. All right. So, I've done five of the hybrid and five of the woods. So, Cody, you want to take a shot? >> Yeah, let's do this. See >> what it looks like for you? Nice. Sounding good.
00:04:38Oh my lanta. >> It sounded good. I wouldn't have guessed that that would have been like so far left.
00:04:57>> That was good. >> Gee, Willickers. Yeah, I mean distance-wise, but I don't know why I just don't I don't really feel like I have a lot of control over the face with this for some reason.
00:05:14Okay. So, walk me through what you're saying about that. You say like you don't really have much feel down there. What do you mean by that? >> Um, I'd say on that one there was one shot, maybe the very first shot that it just went more to the left than I like at impact would have thought. >> Yeah. >> It just I I don't necessarily have as much Yeah. just feel at contact with uh with what the club face is doing. >> Okay. >> So, and with the sevenwood, I I know
00:05:45that I have pretty good feel there with that club. So, maybe I'm just comparing it to this. >> Yeah,
00:05:57>> that should be straighter. But, see, even then, like it's definitely my best contact that I've had. And I thought that would have been a bit straighter, but guess not. Yeah. I mean, I'm just shutting that club face down. It's definitely not the club's fault. It's old Cody's fault. It's the old user's fault. I tried to Gosh, made it worse. >> Okay, five shots down. Yeah. Test out the sevenwood down. >> Yeah, let's do it. I'll >> switch you. >> That's kind of a terrible swing, too.
00:06:35Oh, good ball fight. Hey, online. That's way too low for my liking. Oh, that one looks good. Nice. Right on the line, up in the air. Is that your typical carry distance for your 71? >> Yeah, I maybe uh maybe a little bit longer than that. Um, >> swing's just been all over the place a little bit for the past two weeks. So, >> as long as it goes straight. >> Yeah, >> that's all we've been caring about. >> Feel that.
00:07:23>> But with that swing, I knew that was going left. Yeah, >> I had >> an inkling. >> Yeah, more of an idea just based on the impact than I did with the hybrid. >> Okay, >> that should be a draw coming back to the >> Yeah, that did a great job.
00:07:46>> That last swing is why I love the seven woods. I'm I'm like totally just giving away that I love the seven. >> Yeah, I know. We both know like Sav is so awesome >> cuz that that right there is like pretty much my standard >> mis hit off of the face like a little towy but club path is kind of how I want it with a bit of an open face and I like to see the ball with this club go from right to left. Um so so yeah that I mean that's that's why I love this club. Yeah,
00:08:20I will say something that I can appreciate about the hybrid is that when you're hitting off the fairway, like off the deck, sometimes it's intimidating for me holding a wood cuz it's so small. The face is so like skinny. >> And just like purely looking down at the hybrid, I feel more confident >> actually making contact with the ball than sometimes I do with the wood.
00:08:44Something that's cool about um Callaway's elite fairway woods too is that they have the steps. So you can see like it's pretty skinny. >> Mhm. >> And sometimes I feel like when I'm hitting with wood off the deck too that I'm going to hit it super low on the face or even top it. And that steps so sle makes it so it's a little easier to get it closer to the ground. >> Yeah. >> Maybe make better contact with the ball. >> That's a good point. So, right now we are looking at the club comparison
00:09:11feature on SKYTRAK, which is one of my personal favorite features. Um, but Cody, should we take a look at the data? >> Yeah, I mean, based on these numbers, I think I definitely know what club that I want to put in my bag, but what do you say we bring in an expert to maybe help us out? >> Yeah, I know a guy. >> Hey, Nick, come on over. >> Yeah. What do we got going on here? >> So, we both just hit the four hybrid and the sevenwood. Uh, five shots each. And you can see our averages up on the
00:09:39screen. Clearly for both of us, we had four carry distance for the sevenwood, but we were wondering your opinion on these numbers and which club we should put in our bags. >> Yeah. Uh so Lexi, you were the top two right there. >> On the top two. Yeah. >> Yeah. So you definitely got more ball speed out of that 7wood. 7 mph extra. Uh even more backspin as well. 22 yds more carry. And that gave you a better descent angle of 6°. If you're looking to hit that ball onto the greens and
00:10:05have some stopping power, I would go with the sevenwood for you. >> And then Cody, you're the second one. >> Yeah. >> Also really good numbers. We're seeing some of the same stuff. You had a higher ball speed there. Your backspin was actually pretty similar, which is totally normal for those two clubs. Uh but you also got about 20 extra yards of distance as well. Plus, uh descent angle 38 versus 32. So six more degrees of descent angle. >> Wow. you start putting all that
00:10:30together, especially for somebody like you trying to probably hit into some par fives with that club, you're going to want that stopping power. So, that's going to be a lot better for you as well. So, looks like both of you guys hit that seven wood a little bit better. >> Yeah, >> ultimately it's it's always your decision and kind of the number you're looking for distance-wise, but if I had to choose between those two, I'd say 7wood for both of you. >> All right, so that is four hybrid verse
00:10:527wood. Let us know in the comments what you guys want us to compare next. Yeah, and if you want to learn more about Skyrack launch monitors and simulators, head over to skitrackgolf.com. We'll see you in the next video.
